Our Story

Built by a veteran. For veterans.

"I wanted to find something viable, impactful, and recession-resistant that could create a direct impact in the lives of veterans and their families. Portable sanitation is that business." — TONY HUDSON, FOUNDER & CEO

After ten years flying as a Weapons System Officer in U.S. Air Force jet fighters, and three decades building businesses afterward, Tony Hudson kept seeing the same pattern: veterans leaving the military with world-class training, then landing in civilian jobs that used almost none of it.

Hero Johns is his answer — a future franchise model built around the parts of military service that translate directly to running a field operation: route discipline, equipment maintenance, logistics coordination, and showing up exactly when you said you would. We're not there yet. We're building it deliberately, the right way, before we open the doors to franchise owners.

Why This Matters

The transition out of service is harder than it should be.

These are the realities Hero Johns was conceived to push back against — and why business ownership, not just employment, is part of the answer.

43%of transitioning veterans land in jobs that underuse their military training
65%leave their first civilian employer within two years of transition
25%of homeless adults in America have served in the armed forces
1M+veterans are actively searching for meaningful work right now
What We're Building Toward

What a future Hero Johns franchise is designed to offer.

These are the principles guiding how we're designing the franchise system — not current terms, pricing, or commitments. Specifics will be set out in full once a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) is available.

PRINCIPLE

Training, not tenure

No prior sanitation industry experience is expected to be required. The model is being built around structured training and certification, not years on the job.

PRINCIPLE

Built for military strengths

Route discipline, fleet maintenance, and field logistics are the daily work of this industry — skills many veterans already carry from service.

PRINCIPLE

A network, not a solo venture

The intent is a connected community of veteran operators supporting one another — not someone going into business alone for the first time.

PRINCIPLE

Financing pathways explored for veterans

We are evaluating financing avenues commonly available to veteran-owned businesses, including SBA programs, as part of how the system is structured.

PRINCIPLE

An essential, steady industry

Portable sanitation is tied to construction, events, and infrastructure work that continues across economic cycles.

PRINCIPLE

A name built on service

Hero Johns is designed from the ground up around veteran identity and leadership — not retrofitted onto an existing brand.

The Market

An industry with no national leader — yet.

Portable sanitation in the United States is a large, steady industry made up almost entirely of small, independent, regional operators. No company has built a national brand in this space, and none has built one around veteran ownership. That gap is the opportunity Hero Johns is organizing around.

Now Hiring · Founding Team

We're hiring the veterans who will build this from the ground up.
